For the Dough:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- ⅓ cup plus 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
For the Coating:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- Melted butter for brushing if needed
Optional for Serving:
- Chocolate syrup
- Honey
- Nutella
In a saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil over high heat.
Reduce heat, gradually stir in flour, and mix until a smooth dough forms. Turn off the heat.
Transfer dough to a bowl and let cool for 4–5 minutes. Add egg and vanilla, mixing with an electric hand mixer until smooth.
Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray the basket with nonstick spray.
Transfer dough to a piping bag and pipe bite-sized pieces into the basket, leaving space between each.
Brush tops with butter and cook for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Toss warm churro bites in the mixture, brushing with butter if needed for coating to stick.
Serve immediately with chocolate syrup, honey, or Nutella.
For the crispiest Air Fryer Churro Bites, don’t overcrowd the basket—cook in batches. Variation: add pumpkin pie spice to the coating for a seasonal twist.
