Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3 large apples firm, unbruised and sliced 1/8-inch thick
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional

Instructions

Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 200°F (95°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Core the apples and slice them into 1/8-inch rounds using a sharp knife or mandoline.
  • Arrange the slices in a single layer on the prepared sheets, making sure they don’t overlap. If desired, lightly dust with ground cinnamon.
  • Bake for 1 hour. Rotate the baking sheets, flip each apple slice, then bake for another hour. If the centers feel soft, bake an extra 15–30 minutes until edges are golden and chips crackle.
  • Transfer the slices to a wire rack and let them cool completely to ensure maximum crispness.

Notes

Store fully cooled Apple Chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
Avoid storing in the fridge, which can trap moisture and make them chewy.
To refresh slightly soft chips, pop them back in a 200°F oven for 5–10 minutes.
Always wash and dry apple slices thoroughly before baking to prevent bacterial growth.
