Main Ingredients
- 3 large apples firm, unbruised and sliced 1/8-inch thick
- 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
Steps
Preheat the oven to 200°F (95°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Core the apples and slice them into 1/8-inch rounds using a sharp knife or mandoline.
Arrange the slices in a single layer on the prepared sheets, making sure they don’t overlap. If desired, lightly dust with ground cinnamon.
Bake for 1 hour. Rotate the baking sheets, flip each apple slice, then bake for another hour. If the centers feel soft, bake an extra 15–30 minutes until edges are golden and chips crackle.
Transfer the slices to a wire rack and let them cool completely to ensure maximum crispness.
Store fully cooled Apple Chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
Avoid storing in the fridge, which can trap moisture and make them chewy.
To refresh slightly soft chips, pop them back in a 200°F oven for 5–10 minutes.
Always wash and dry apple slices thoroughly before baking to prevent bacterial growth.
