- 1 loaf 12 oz crusty French baguette
- 2 –4 tbsp olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 –3 Roma tomatoes sliced 1/4″ thick
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp Kosher salt
Garnish:
- Fresh basil leaves
- Homemade basil pesto optional
- Balsamic glaze for drizzling
Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C).
Cut the baguette in half widthwise, then slice each half lengthwise.
Spread 2–3 tablespoons of olive oil on the cut sides of the bread.
Evenly distribute sliced garlic over each piece.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top of each slice.
Layer sliced Roma tomatoes on top of the cheese.
Season with dried oregano and bake for 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted.
Broil for 1–2 minutes until cheese is golden. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze. Garnish with basil and enjoy.
For the best Caprese Garlic Bread, pat tomatoes dry before baking to avoid sogginess. Try adding a thin layer of pesto for extra flavor!
