Ingredients
  

For the Filling:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

For the French Toast:

  • 8 slices brioche or Texas toast
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp butter, for frying

For the Coating:

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Optional Toppings:

  • Maple syrup
  • Fresh berries
  • Whipped cream

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Spread the filling between 4 slices of bread, then top with remaining slices to make sandwiches.
  • In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt to make the custard.
  • Dip each sandwich into the custard, coating both sides but not soaking too long.
  • Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook each sandwich 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  • Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish, then coat warm French toast in the mixture.
  • Slice and serve with optional toppings.

Notes

Use day-old bread for the best texture in this Churro Stuffed French Toast with Cinnamon Sugar. Try swapping the cream cheese with Nutella for a twist.
