Ingredients
  

Rice Base

  • 1 cup long grain rice Jasmine works best
  • 1.5 cups water or vegetable broth Use broth for added flavor

Flavor Enhancers

  • 1 pinch kosher salt Omit if using broth
  • 1 whole lime Zest and juice included
  • 1 clove garlic Finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup fresh cilantro Chopped finely

Instructions
 

Preparing the Rice

  • Rinse rice under cold water until clear to remove excess starch.
    1 cup long grain rice
  • Combine rinsed rice and broth/water in a saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cover for 12 minutes.
    1 cup long grain rice, 1.5 cups water or vegetable broth

Finishing Touches

  • Remove from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 10 minutes.
    1 cup long grain rice
  • Stir in lime zest, juice, garlic, and cilantro after steaming.

Notes

Rinse the rice thoroughly to achieve fluffy grains. For a twist, add diced peppers or corn when mixing in the cilantro. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for 2 months.
