Ingredients
  

Sauce and Pasta

  • 2 25 ounce jars pasta sauce
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 pound penne pasta uncooked

Cheese Mixture

  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1/3 cup basil freshly chopped

Cheese

  • 2 cups parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded

Instructions
 

Prepare Cheese Mixture

  • Combine the ricotta cheese, eggs, and fresh basil in a bowl and stir well.
    15 oz ricotta cheese, 2 pieces eggs

Layer and Cook

  • Grease the inside of a 6 qt slow cooker. Add 2 1/3 cups of pasta sauce to the bottom. Layer 1/3 of the uncooked penne, half the ricotta mixture, and 1 cup of Parmesan. Repeat layers and top with remaining sauce. Cook on high for 2-3 hours.

  • During the last 15-30 minutes, add the mozzarella cheese to the top and allow it to melt.

Notes

This easy crock pot baked ziti is always a crowd pleaser and so simple to make! Serve alone or topped with red pepper flakes. Pair it with garlic bread and a side salad for a complete meal.
