Ingredients

Cider Base

  • 2 quarts apple cider unfiltered if possible
  • 2 cups apple juice no-sugar-added

Spices & Add-Ins

  • 3 sticks cinnamon sticks broken if needed
  • 1 tsp whole cloves tie in cheesecloth sachet
  • 1 tsp allspice berries tie in cheesecloth sachet

Optional Sweetener

  • 0.25 cup brown sugar add in last hour
  • 1 slice orange thinly sliced
  • 1 slice fresh ginger thinly sliced

Instructions

Make the Cider

  • Nestle apple cider, apple juice, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves and allspice berries into a 6-quart slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours, until the liquid is softly bubbling and aroma is rich.
  • Stir in brown sugar, orange slices and ginger; cover and cook 1 more hour for deeper flavor.
  • Use tongs to fish out cinnamon sticks and sachet, then strain through a fine mesh. Keep warm and serve.

Notes

Tie cloves and allspice in a cheesecloth sachet for effortless removal without unexpected bites.
Store cooled cider in the refrigerator for up to 5 days; reheating on LOW enhances spice infusion and flavor depth.
