Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional:

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar for rolling

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
  • Cream butter, peanut butter, and sugars until fluffy.
  • Add egg and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
  • Stir dry ingredients into wet until just combined.
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in sugar if desired.
  • Place on baking sheet. Press with a fork for crisscross pattern.
  • Bake 10–12 minutes until golden. Cool 5 minutes on sheet.

Notes

For perfect peanut butter cookies, use creamy peanut butter for a smooth texture. Variation: Add ½ cup chocolate chips for a choco-nutty twist.
