Ingredients
  

  • 1 box large pasta shells about 20 shells
  • 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup cooked spinach squeezed dry
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the pasta shells according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, spinach, garlic powder, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  • Stuff each pasta shell with the cheese and spinach mixture.
  • Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place stuffed shells in the dish.
  • Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the shells.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, add red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce. You can also substitute spinach with sautéed mushrooms for a different twist on this stuffed shells recipe.
