- 1 box large pasta shells about 20 shells
- 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 cup cooked spinach squeezed dry
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish optional
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the pasta shells according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, spinach, garlic powder, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Stuff each pasta shell with the cheese and spinach mixture.
Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place stuffed shells in the dish.
Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the shells.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.
For extra flavor, add red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce. You can also substitute spinach with sautéed mushrooms for a different twist on this stuffed shells recipe.
