- 1 English cucumber halved, seeds removed, sliced thin
- 8 oz medium pasta penne or rotini
- 1/2 sweet white onion thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill chopped
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- Black pepper to taste
- Cold water for soaking onions
In a small bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, sugar, salt, vinegar, dill, and black pepper until smooth. Set aside.
Slice the onion thinly and soak in a bowl of cold water to mellow its sharpness.
