For the Fries:
- 32 oz frozen French fries or homemade fries
For the Cheese Sauce:
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 tsp salt
For the Seasoning:
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp chili powder
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
Preheat oven to 400°F. Spread fries on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for 25 minutes or as directed.
While fries bake, mix all seasoning ingredients in a small bowl.
For the cheese sauce, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook 1–2 minutes.
Gradually whisk in milk and reduce heat to medium-low. Cook for 5 minutes, whisking until thickened.
Remove from heat, add shredded cheese and salt. Stir until melted and smooth.
Once fries are done, immediately sprinkle with the seasoning mix.
Transfer seasoned fries to a serving tray. Pour cheese sauce over fries.
Drizzle with ranch dressing and serve hot. Enjoy your Louisiana Voodoo Fries!
For crispier fries, use an air fryer or double-bake them. To vary the recipe, top your Louisiana Voodoo Fries with crispy bacon or Cajun shrimp for a heartier twist.
