  • 8 hot dogs hot dogs halved
  • 8 slices American cheese cut in half
  • 1 large egg beaten

  • Preheat oven to 375°F; heat the racks evenly for 10 minutes.
  • Unroll the crescent dough; separate into 8 triangles and cut each in half crosswise to make 16 pieces.
  • Place one cheese half and one hot dog half on the wide end of each triangle; roll toward the point, sealing seams downward.

  • Brush each roll with beaten egg, ensuring even glossy coverage around the edges.

Notes

These can be assembled ahead and frozen; brush with egg wash just before baking to get that fresh-baked sheen.
