Ingredients

  • 2 lbs breakfast sausage mild or hot
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 32 oz frozen shredded hashbrowns
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned, about 7–10 minutes. Drain fat.
  • Stir softened cream cheese into sausage until blended. Set aside.
  • In the same skillet, cook hashbrowns until lightly browned, about 5–7 minutes.
  • Spread hashbrowns in the baking pan. Top with sausage mixture and some cheddar.
  • Whisk eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Pour over casserole.
  • Sprinkle remaining cheddar on top. Bake for 40–45 minutes until set.
  • Let cool for 5 minutes, then serve your sausage and creamy hashbrown casserole warm.

Notes

For best results, soften cream cheese fully to blend smoothly with sausage. For a spicy variation, add diced jalapeños to your sausage and creamy hashbrown casserole for a zesty kick.
