Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lbs stew beef or sirloin tips, cut into bite-sized chunks
  • 1 tbsp olive oil optional, for searing
  • ½ cup honey
  • cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water for slurry
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp chopped green onions for garnish
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Pat steak chunks dry and sear in olive oil until lightly browned (optional).
  • In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, broth, vinegar, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  • Add beef to the slow cooker. Pour sauce over the meat and stir to coat.
  • Cook on low for 5–6 hours or high for 2.5–3 hours until beef is tender.
  • In the last 30 minutes, mix cornstarch and water, stir into the slow cooker.
  • Let cook uncovered until sauce thickens.
  • Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Enjoy over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.

Notes
