  • 1 whole chicken about 4-5 pounds
  • 1 head cabbage cut into wedges

Spice Rub

  • 2 tablespoons paprika smoked for extra flavor
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust for heat preference
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for coating

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Pat the chicken dry and rub with olive oil and spice mixture.
  • Arrange cabbage around the chicken in a roasting pan and cook for about 60 minutes.
  • Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Notes

1. Allow the chicken to rest for 10 minutes before carving for juicier meat. 2. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. 3. Cabbage can be substituted with Brussels sprouts for a different flavor.
