Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Johnsonville spicy Italian sausage crumbled or uncased links
  • 1 12 oz can diced tomatoes, drained well
  • ½ cup pickled banana peppers diced and drained well
  • ½ cup pickled cherry peppers diced and drained well
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded and divided
  • ¾ cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 8 oz block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Freshly grated black pepper to taste
  • For serving: toasted buttered baguettes or tortilla chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbly. Drain excess grease.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and black pepper until smooth.
  • Add sausage, drained tomatoes, banana peppers, cherry peppers, parmesan, and 1½ cups mozzarella. Mix well.
  • Spread mixture evenly in prepared baking dish. Top with remaining ½ cup mozzarella.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, then switch oven to broil and cook 2–3 minutes until cheese is browned and bubbly.
  • Serve hot with toasted baguette slices or tortilla chips.

Notes

For the best flavor, shred mozzarella from a block instead of using pre-shredded cheese—it melts smoother. To make a milder Spicy Italian Sausage Dip, use mild sausage and skip the red pepper flakes.
